I am going to begin by wishing Laini an enormous CONGRATULATIONS on the publication of her book!!! (We can't get it yet but she has it in her talented little hands and has shared a few pages with us on her blog.) Well done, Laini!!!
In honour (or honor if you are in the USA!) of this wonderful book appearing in the world, this week's prompt is: wings.
Whether the wings are airplane, bird, butterfly, or angelic, real, fantastical, metaphoric, or concrete, tell us where you go with them. Do you think of dragonflies or model airplanes? Are you waiting for pigs to fly? Do you remember waterwings, faeries, eagles, or bumblebees that technically shouldn't be able to fly but do anyway? Where does this prompt take you?
(All are welcome. Please write a new post based on the prompt and give us a link to that specific post. See the majority of comments from the last post as an example.)
UPDATE: We've had a few questions about the new website, so here's an update! We are still working on it but it turns out that the automatic linking system of our dreams is a bit more complicated than we first thought. We are in the process of looking for someone who can make what we want without it costing a fortune so if you have any recommendations, please let us know!)

This piece recounts a very profound experience of mine. I found myself on a sunny afternoon, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, suddenly quite caught up in the essence of flying. It was eerie and wonderful.

ReplyDeleteThis is an apology.
ReplyDeleteLast week was my first offering to Sunday Scribblings.
I thought the links were placed at midnight, Saturday night. My poem, "Observing a Gull" wasn't finished when I sent in the link Thursday.
I was still editing this evening in WordPress when I noticed someone visited, at which time I discovered the links had been placed.
As I enter this comment, I've just wrapped the final edit of my poem. I'm sorry I didn't understand the actual release time for viewing.
I apologize to anyone who saw the unfinished piece, and invite you back to view the finished work.

Okay, I know this is very late! But today is a public holiday in France (can that count as a Sunday Scribbling?) and I was away for the weekend, which inspired this post:
ReplyDeletehttp://and-so-forth.blogspot.com/2007/05/sunday-scribblings-serendipity.html
Hi.
ReplyDeleteI posted before midnight last Sunday ---I thought it was about 11:20 PM EDT. The note on the post says 9:12 PM. But always before if I posted before midnight on Sunday it got posted for the week and if not I knew I was taking my chances on being too late.
Is there a specific time you would really like us to have posted to be included in the list????
Thanks.
I will try to do better.

Laini, I need to contact you or Meg about the program you need to do the automatic linking. But there are no contact details on your profile. I think they have disappeared from all the profiles when blogger upgraded. I'm sure mine was on my profile page, and when I checked, it wasn't. So I've gone in and ticked the box again - so, if you don't get an e-mail from my husband, could you go to my profile page and e-mail me? Thanks. He seems to think he might be able to do it.
ReplyDeleteLast one-done all the prompts.
