I am going to post twice on this prompt. The first post is a piece I wrote yesterday called "What Do You Pray For!" It is commentary on a conversation with other women.
The second will be about those prayers that do not ask for anything at all. Grateful is indeed a beautiful word.
Now I'm smoking cigarettes And I strive for purity, And I slip just like the stars into obscurity. 'Cause every time I hear that melody, Well, puts me up a tree, And the grapefruit moon, one star shining, Is all that I can see.
Thanks, Megg and Laini for always being here with a prompt, every Sunday. Whether something comes to me to write about it or not, I'm always grateful that those prompts are here. Thank you. Have a happy Thanksgiving.
I hope I'm not too late! But, is it ever too late to be grateful? I think we all know the answer to that!! I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving! Jan
This is my first visit to your blog. What a great prompt offering. I am reading several of the takes on this one, around the blogs. I will try to come up with one myself, before the end of the week. Also will add you to my blogroll.
Every Saturday (or thereabouts!) we'll post a writing prompt. (No, not on Sunday because then you can post your writing on Sunday!)
You create a piece of writing inspired by that writing prompt.
You post your writing on your blog and leave a comment here to let us know you have participated. (Please try to leave us the perma-link to the actual post if you can!)
We'll publish the links here for people to follow and read!
Need some suggestions?
You could try: a piece of timed writing, a poem, a story, a song, a piece of prose, a list - anything to get your pen moving!

Great prompt... I'm grateful (couldn't resist!) for the opportunities y'all create for us!
Posted early! Sorry!
I had to get this story on paper, ASAP!
Thanks for the prompt, it fit perfectly!
Enjoy readers :)
I am sure no one else will have the same take on this prompt.
Had to think about this one a while, but mine's up now!
Mine will be up on Sunday. I'm grateful for my wonderful Mother, who passed away in June.

INVITATION
Invited hereby to my site
please be. You see I poems write
and knight like fight and youth alight.
That photo says it. Godly, right?
I want more readers. I want you
to come as if out from the blue
and tell me what I write is true
and make my motivation new.
Why you? This is not spam, God’s dear.
I stand by what I do. I care.
Your senseless love to me I fear.
I mean it. I am good. Take care.

Good prompt. Forces us to count the little blessings in life that we so easily ignore.
From "Grapefruit Moon":
Now I'm smoking cigarettes
And I strive for purity,
And I slip just like the stars into obscurity.
'Cause every time I hear that melody,
Well, puts me up a tree,
And the grapefruit moon, one star shining,
Is all that I can see.
I have so much to be grateful for it was difficult to chose one thing, but I did.
Hmm... I cannot get Mr. Linky to accept this link for some reason. Could one of you maybe submit it to Linky for me?

I am grateful to you!
Thanks for the prompt. It made me do some thinking.
grateful for your prompts each week.
I found the prompt quite hard at first and then it clicked. I love being back at school again and doing 'homework'!
although my offering is not specifically about the word grateful,, it is the product of something of which i am truly grateful for....
grateful to be here.
added mine, and continued from last week (thanks to a suggestion from a reader who wondered what else happened).
Drat! I added the link to an old Sunday Scribblings, So now I'm in there twice.
Thanks for the prompt! Have you ever heard a greatfruit scream?
Giving to junkyard dogs what is holy...

I really enjoyed this prompt. My piece awaits you!
I linked to a new almost-flash story, based on my current WIP about a demon rock band and its hapless human manager.
Thanks not only for the site, but also to the kind folks who themselves write, and also come in and read and leave comments. It means the world.
An essay for your consideration:

I knew instantly what mine would be, but I'm grateful for the push that I needed to say it.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Bella:)
Why would Norwegian Black Metal make me grateful? Read this week's post to find out!
1st time try at this for me, not sure Multiply allows links like this but I hope so. Anyway, the exercise is good.
I'm playing again, this week's story is a companion piece to what I wrote last week.
this could be fun, though I missed the Sunday Deadline.
Maybe next time.
