#149 - Art

The prompt for this week is: Art. For such a little word, it holds a lot of energy and even some controversy! What do you make of art?

As an artist in several different media, I liked this prompt a lot. I'm looking forward to hearing from other artists and those readers and writers who appreciate (or don't) art.

I'm looking forward to reading the entries tomorrow. It's not yet light here. There's bound to be a great variety.

This was easy. My graduating daughter's art show is up this week. She is a classicist, and loves sculpture, pottery and oils. The guy who is sharing her show is into modern art. His one realistic piece is a composite of photos and painting and his paintings are darker. The irony of it: Her show was called "My World" and his "Fin del Mundo" (End of the world)

Thought I couldn't do this one at first, I'm very inartistic and it really had me stumped; but I did it. I'm glad you chose this prompt, it really challenged me and pushed me outside of my comfort zone! Thank you!

Now I'm looking forward to a nice cu of tea to enjoy whilst I read all of yours!

Have a good weekend,
Bella :)

What painting couldn't be improved with the addition of a few bats? Or so thinks Vic Drake, vampire lead singer for Maelstrom.

Perfect timing for this prompt! This weekend a poem I wrote based on a painting was accepted for publication. I also recently joined a new writers/artists/musicians group that had their first outing today, to the wonderful Appleton Museum of Art.

Thanks for this prompt! I am a painter and I'm supposed to be working on my artist statement. So I am hoping to incorporate some of what I wrote into it in the future.
