#104 -- Out of this World

Do you believe there is life beyond Earth? If so, what might it be like, and if not, why not? And do you believe in alien visitations, abductions, sightings? Do you have any thoughts on the stars, on space, space travel, colonization of distant planets, etc? Did you ever want to be an astronaut? Or do you, perhaps, never think of space at all?

Hey, Laini! Thanks for the invite to come over. You're right---my Poetry Friday post is tailor-made for this topic.

BTW, one of my favorite books growing up was Enchantress From the Stars. Have you read that?

It's not your faults I'm so damnably tangential, but I'd still like a seat on the bus - at least a place in the aisle.

I sort of went in a different direction... well, no... I really went in a different direction. I hope that's all right.

Whoops! Sorry. I put my url as my name, and nothing in the url spot. I'm still getting used to this whole crazy linking thing. I apologize. If you wanna link to my blog, this comment should allow you to. Or maybe not, I'm not sure. I'm pretty inept. :)

I'm kind of cheating this week, but I think maybe I'm allowed to. Being a) a long term Sunday Scribbler and B) having arrived in Japan less than a week ago. I hope I'm allowed to cheat anyway and will be forgiven for not posting a "scribble" as such!

Well I'm always blogging about space, so I had to throw something together for this one! :-)

I've come up with a little history of our exploration of one of the more interesting little worlds in our Solar System. Hopefully some of you may find it entertaining and informative...

Find it above, or here.

This is my first try at Sunday Scribblings. It was more difficult than I imagined. I had thoughts running around my head but getting them in to what I hope is a cohesive post was a challenge. I hope it makes sense:)

hi,
I didn't participate but i did want to say...i just dug out my art journal and the last entry was from May of '06, the SS "Three Wishes" topic. It really means a lot to me in ways i can't adequately explain, that you're still here.
sending out big good juju to you all.

This prompt IMMEDIATELY made me think of stars. For a little background, I'm night blind. The Astronomy class and the stuff about the night vision goggles and binoculars are all true.

I had this whole funky idea going, two actually, but in the end, the simple elegance of a Fiction in 58 seemed appropriate.
