#104 -- Out of this World
Do you believe there is life beyond Earth? If so, what might it be like, and if not, why not? And do you believe in alien visitations, abductions, sightings? Do you have any thoughts on the stars, on space, space travel, colonization of distant planets, etc? Did you ever want to be an astronaut? Or do you, perhaps, never think of space at all?

Hey, Laini! Thanks for the invite to come over. You're right---my Poetry Friday post is tailor-made for this topic.
BTW, one of my favorite books growing up was Enchantress From the Stars. Have you read that?
Wow, you guys were quick! I thought I'd be the first, but looks like I'm third. Oh well :)

Wrote this poem in January, but thought it fitted the prompt well!
Hope you enjoy!

This was a fun exercise. Took me to places I wasn't expecting.
Just posted mine...I took it in a different direction...hope that is alright?
This prompt should give some interesting results!
It's not your faults I'm so damnably tangential, but I'd still like a seat on the bus - at least a place in the aisle.
I sort of went in a different direction... well, no... I really went in a different direction. I hope that's all right.

Whoops! Sorry. I put my url as my name, and nothing in the url spot. I'm still getting used to this whole crazy linking thing. I apologize. If you wanna link to my blog, this comment should allow you to. Or maybe not, I'm not sure. I'm pretty inept. :)

Not a poem, but a flash story ... science fiction ... well, sort of: Out of this World.
Just a short one this week!
My post is very simple this week but I think it suscinctly states my beliefs on this topic.

I wrote about life. Tehe.
I feel so happy to have written this poem, happier still to be able to share it!
Hi all, this was a fun, quick write - hope you like it

I'm kind of cheating this week, but I think maybe I'm allowed to. Being a) a long term Sunday Scribbler and B) having arrived in Japan less than a week ago. I hope I'm allowed to cheat anyway and will be forgiven for not posting a "scribble" as such!
Mine's kinda gloomy, but sometimes that's what falls out.
OOPS ! I had to post mine twice, I don't know what went wrong but if you click the first Jon all you get is blog not found. Sorry.
Well I'm always blogging about space, so I had to throw something together for this one! :-)
I've come up with a little history of our exploration of one of the more interesting little worlds in our Solar System. Hopefully some of you may find it entertaining and informative...
Find it above, or here.
I'm leaving mine as a scheduled post for tomorrow. I am away for the weekend and didn't want to miss it but don't want to be too early either. :)
A few thoughts... thanks for the prompt and for the ever delightful site!
Here's my post about an out of this world situation that is actually in this world. ;)

Hi everyone, I did talk about 'space' :/
but I kind of sort of cheated.
Interesting topic! So many ways to go with it. Thanks!
A challenge for something that you aren't interested in -- that IS a challenge!! Thanks!
took a little different route.
It's amazing what you remember, when given just the right prompt!
Greeting Scribblers,
Some thoughts from Skeletos:
There is consciousness and life off planet. Trust me, you can take my word for it!

Once again, a challenge!

This is my first try at Sunday Scribblings. It was more difficult than I imagined. I had thoughts running around my head but getting them in to what I hope is a cohesive post was a challenge. I hope it makes sense:)

hi,
I didn't participate but i did want to say...i just dug out my art journal and the last entry was from May of '06, the SS "Three Wishes" topic. It really means a lot to me in ways i can't adequately explain, that you're still here.
sending out big good juju to you all.
This prompt IMMEDIATELY made me think of stars. For a little background, I'm night blind. The Astronomy class and the stuff about the night vision goggles and binoculars are all true.
I had this whole funky idea going, two actually, but in the end, the simple elegance of a Fiction in 58 seemed appropriate.
Insignificance
I wasn't sure where this was going to take me, but it took me back to vacation. Wishful thinking I guess.

great prompt this week! I had a lot of fun.
Your prompt #104, my SS week #5. “Sunday Scribblings – Otherworldly bad news” posted 3/30/08 9:25pm.
My feedback so far makes me think these people are out of this world. Although... I already believed that to be so.
The First Two Paintings
I'm a day late. . .great prompt!
I'm back from my travels and I have returned very sick ;-(
Hence I am very late and have probably not done the prompt justice...we'll see! I'm going to try to check some people's ss prompts now.
Visiting your planet is an interesting experience.
Thank you for posting the info re NaPoWrMo for the month of April. I found your site by serendipity, searching creative writing blogs on Yahoo. Great idea -- and I'm going to do it! Beth
A very rough draft of a children's story.
Hello, I am Verdunoisette. This is my first Sunday Scribble "On being Alien" in response to Challenge 104-Out Of This World at: http://waters-edge.blogspot.com/2008/04/out-of-this-world-on-being-alien.html
I am enjoying reading all the submissions. Thanks for the challenge.

At The Water's Edge
I'm late to the party, and I also took this in rather a different direction than I think it was intended. But I'm here, even so. :)

A photo you have never seen before.

I had a hard time with this one, so my contribution is late. :( Better late than never.... :)
A week late but ...
