What do you think of when I say distant? Distant lands? Distant loved one? Distant look? Distant can be spacial or emotional or just about anything you like. What do you make of it?
Hey Fellow Bloggers! Thank you for your kind words on my last week's take on the SS prompt. I really appreciate it. I'm still in there but I tried writing a fantasy fiction for this week's prompt: "The Princess and the Distant Dude".
This could go many ways, but I chose to use the word distant to write a poem about something that is out of my control. I am wondering what everyone else will come up with. It should be fun!
Great word! It took me forever to nail down what kind of "distant" sparked my brain the most and I settled with distant hearts. Excited to read everyone's contribution!
Every Saturday (or thereabouts!) we'll post a writing prompt. (No, not on Sunday because then you can post your writing on Sunday!)
You create a piece of writing inspired by that writing prompt.
You post your writing on your blog and leave a comment here to let us know you have participated. (Please try to leave us the perma-link to the actual post if you can!)
We'll publish the links here for people to follow and read!
Need some suggestions?
You could try: a piece of timed writing, a poem, a story, a song, a piece of prose, a list - anything to get your pen moving!

Of course, mine has to have a love theme!
First time at using your site for inspiration, definitely got me thinking!
As always I love your prompts and how many different places they can take me. This one brought me to a water maiden and her home beneath the sea.
A distant rumble ---
Is that my muse I'm hearing,
or a false alarm?
My latest, Thrilling Limerick, also serves as a Limerick-Off writing challenge. Thanks very much!
"And now for something completely different!"
Actually...this one has NOTHING to do with Monty Python, but it is a real departure for me.
I wrote some song lyrics that really seem to fit this prompt.
In honor of Comic Con, I did a super-hero story involving the Flash. I'm no Geoff Johns, but I hope it turned out okay.
A take on trust :-) Thanks for the brain food.
I think of distant fire...an inferno in the clouds...

My first try at a Sunday Scribble
Great word! I got a second piece going with it on my phone that I'm still playing with. Thanks!

Love this prompt- so many possibilities!
Why is it that I can't comment on some people's blogs? I would love to leave comments but some won't let me. :(
Late to the party, but happy to attend!
wanting to be closer may unchain the opposite...
Just happen to write a poem dealing with this topic. Sort of dark though.
Just found your site and intend to use your prompts on my art journal pages. Sounds like fun! Now for that "standing ovation".........
Distant... What I am from my family.
